Description
No. 4 – RED CHARM (Glasscock 1944) Red Charm features corollas comprising a crown of rounded petals forming a cup, from which emerge an infinite number of petaloids with margins resembling more or less sharp ridges, making it resemble a mountain of red frost. Beautiful, bright green foliage; sturdy stems that effortlessly support the weight of its heavy blooms; a truly intense red that deepens to crimson; exceptional vase life; and a long flowering period. A miracle of nature resulting from the cross-breeding of a ‘lactiflora’ with an ‘officinalis’. Glasscock, an American peony breeder of the mid-20th century, who favoured simple, profusely flowering varieties, created his absolute masterpiece with ‘Red Charm’. H: 80–90 cm / Flower diameter: 18–20 cm COURTESY OF MAISON TRICOT IN ORLEANS
