Description
No. 59 – SOUTHERN BEAUTY (Sutherland, c. 2001) Stemming from the worldwide seed distribution organised by Bill Seidl and the APS in the 1970s, Southern Beauty is a ‘child of no one’ and, amongst all the seedlings grown by Jane and Trevor Sutherland, one of the most spectacular tree peonies. It is a true orange colour when the bud first opens. This lasts for a day or two. Then, like its lutea counterparts, it turns yellow edged with pink. With large flowers and a sturdy stem, I highly recommend it. H: 150 to 180 cm
