Text from the President of the Hotchkiss Club, to whom we extend our thanks,
A rare and remarkable Hotchkiss Anjou 20 50, in its original black livery.
Registered as 4378 AD 13, it has never had its registration number changed, indicating that it was used in the Bouches-du-Rhône department and has been very carefully maintained.
The bodywork is in very good condition: no signs of impact or repairs, and no corrosion in the usual places where it tends to set in.
The doors show no play and close perfectly, evidence of a wooden structure that has not suffered from the passage of time, thanks to ideal conditions of use and storage.
All bodywork fittings are present and in perfect condition; there are no ‘after-fits’; the exterior chrome parts – bumpers, trim strips and badges – simply require a thorough polish.
It should be noted that this Anjou 20 50 is fitted with small side running boards, on both the left and right, the purpose of which was to prevent dirt and splashes on the rear wings; Hotchkiss fitted them in 1952, and in addition to this protective function, they elongate the Anjou’s silhouette.
The interior upholstery, strictly original, is in very fine condition and requires no work; the front seats are separate, allowing easy access to the floor-mounted gear lever; the headlining and door trims are free from snags, with all window handles, windscreen wiper levers and deflectors present and complete. The dashboard, made of painted sheet metal with a wood-effect finish, is very attractive, and all the original buttons and pull-tabs are in place.
The engine compartment is in excellent condition and shows it has been well maintained; all engine components are intact and show no signs of rust.
This Anjou 20 50 is in a remarkable state of preservation and will give its new owner every satisfaction.
