History: BMC produced this charming and attractive little open-top car in 1964. The car was not an immediate success upon its release. The engine, derived from the Mini, was easy to maintain, and the car was fairly well built; despite this, initial sales fell short of expectations. However, the stars of the 1960s helped promote it by driving it around in the sunshine, including Brigitte Bardot and other Italian stars of the time. The car features in a number of films, including James Bond and *Les Grandes Vacances* (starring Louis de Funès), as well as in television series such as *The Avengers*, *The Prisoner* and others. This brought the little car a degree of fame, and models could be seen driving along the Côte d’Azur.
Condition: The white ‘Moke’ on display has been restored; it is rare to find this model in such good condition. This is the first version bearing the Morris badge. With its white canvas top, it is ideal for driving in fine, warm weather. You’ll need to take the necessary precautions when driving this lovely little car.
