"Complete history since the order form!
"Complete history since the order form!"
- Unveiled at the 1970 Geneva Motor Show, the SM, for Project S Maserati, was striking for its innovative lines, designed by Robert Opron. Its taut lines gave the SM a unique dynamism. Its excellent Cx of 0.46 was the result of extensive work in the wind tunnel, which dictated its overall appearance. Taking advantage of Citroën's takeover of Maserati in 1968, the SM was fitted under the bonnet with an all-new twin-shaft V6 engine marked with the trident.
- The SM presented here was sold new by Lhenry et Fils in Aube in November 1971. The relatively rare colour of Silver Green Metallic (AC 527) is accompanied by a brown leather interior. The original options include rear seat belts, tinted windows and the superb R437 "Radioen" radio.
- This SM has an absolutely complete history, from the order form at the local Citroën dealership, to the red strikethrough of the period mines, to the duplicate keys, all the invoices are present as well as the logbooks, which is rare enough to be highlighted.
- The car has always been serviced by an agent of the make and then by the specialist SM2A, who carried out an engine overhaul in 1995, changing the chain tensioners, de-icing the cylinders, changing the valves, etc. The car has always been meticulously maintained. It will always be meticulously maintained. Note that the Michelin tyres are new.
- Its first owner kept it until 2013, and the car never left the region. Today, the odometer shows 70,000 original km, and this SM has a very bright future ahead of it. To drive such a mythical and beautiful car in this state of freshness is an immense pleasure for any classic car enthusiast.
