- Simultaneously with the presentation of the Roadster version of the latest iteration of the XK, the factory announced an S version, equipped with the straigh-port cylinder head and 3 carburettors, enabling it to claim 250 bhp instead of the original 210! Only 888 3.4 S Roadsters will be produced.
- Our example was delivered new via the Jaguar Cars dealerships in New York on 28 October 1958 in this elegant black with red leather interior and grey soft top. Its first owner was a doctor from New Orleans, who had the taste to take his car in the extremely rare S version, with Roadster bodywork!
- At the end of 2010, the car joined the collection of its current owner, alongside a Bugatti Type 51!
