- Interesting AZAM version with ‘suicide’ doors
- Extensive, documented restoration
- Original mechanical components
- No reserve
First registered on 13 November 1964, this 2CV is an interesting and rare first-generation AZAM version, recognisable by its ‘suicide’ doors, produced from March 1963 to November 1964. Subsequent versions featured front doors that opened in the conventional direction. The AZAM version stood out for its more luxurious finish, introduced in response to the launch of the Renault 4. The current owner acquired it in 2017 from a connoisseur of the model who had just restored the original engine. Aware of the appeal of this version, the owner then embarked on a complete restoration of the car. The chassis was replaced with a new, galvanised one – and therefore covered by a lifetime guarantee – all the floor panels were replaced, and the bodywork was stripped down, treated and repainted. Around 250 hours were spent on this part of the work. At the same time, the mechanical components were restored, with wear parts replaced where necessary. The upholstery was also refurbished, and a file of invoices and photographs documents the extent of the work. This AZAM retains all its specific trim features: window trims, bumper trims and bumpers, mouldings, steering wheel, upholstery… Ready to hit the road, this 2CV will delight enthusiasts of the early generations of the 2CV, whilst benefiting from the advances and finish characteristic of the AZAM version.
