As confirmed by its Mercedes-Benz certificate of authenticity, this elegant 250 SE convertible left the factory on 21 July 1966 and was delivered to the Mercedes branch in Aachen, Germany. Finished in beige with a cognac interior, it featured optional individual seats and a Becker Europa car radio. Guido Hommel acquired it in 2009 to complete his collection of convertibles. The car subsequently underwent a bodywork restoration, during which it was fully repainted in its current, very flattering colour. The alignment is good and an inspection of the underbody reveals a car in perfect condition. The beige leather upholstery has been reupholstered, as has the black soft top, which is in perfect condition. The engine is the original, matching numbers, mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox, and the whole unit is in good working order. Behind the steering wheel, the superb dashboard features a Becker Mexico car radio, and the front passengers benefit from headrests and seatbelts. The odometer reads 90,370 km and there is a Tripmaster beneath the dashboard. With its warm colour, immaculate presentation and mechanics ready to hit the road, this superb example—certified in 2024—will catch the eye of enthusiasts looking to drive a comfortable car that remains perfectly at ease in today’s traffic.
