Description
1973 Porsche 911 2.4 E Targa
Manufacturer: 1973 Porsche 911 2.4 E Targa
Vehicle registration document: Austrian registration certificate
Chassis No.: 9112210815
Engine No.: 6221659
- Original engine, original light yellow colour
- Documented history, same owner for 26 years
- Sold new in Austria
This Porsche Targa is a 2.4 E version, whose 165 cv engine positioned it between the entry-level T version and the more powerful S version. In the colour ‘Light Yellow ’ (ref. 117-9-1), it was first registered on 27 September 1973 in the name of Marianne Hainzl, from Innsbruck in Austria, whose occupation, as stated on the registration document, was ‘waitress’! The car was sold the following year, and all the subsequent Austrian owners are listed on the original registration document. The car had been in the same ownership since 1982 when its current owner purchased it in 2000.
The car comes with a file of invoices dating back to the 1990s, which attests to its maintenance history. During a restoration, black leather sports seats were fitted to improve comfort and support, and the steering wheel was also replaced with a more modern Momo model. The dashboard also features an optional period car radio. With fewer than 1,900 units produced, the 911 2.4 E Targa is a relatively rare Porsche; this example, in roadworthy condition, features a particularly desirable colour and still has its original engine, which, combined with its documented history, makes it a particularly interesting model.
