Description
1963 Jaguar E-Type 3.8L Series 1 Roadster No reserve Manufacturer: 1963 Jaguar E-Type 3.8L Series 1 Roadster Model: No reserve Vehicle registration document: German registration certificate Chassis No.: Chassis No. 877900 - Same German owner from 1987 to 2025 - Restoration carried out with the utmost care - Highly sought-after Series 1 3.8-litre Roadster - No reserve This Jaguar E-Type Series 1 spent the early years of its life in the United States and, in February 1987, whilst in Los Alamitos (California), it was purchased by a collector who ran a bodywork restoration business based in Bonn and exported to Germany. The car was in its original condition, but in 2015 the collector undertook a complete restoration, carried out in part by the Oldtimer Restauration und Service workshop in Düren. The bodywork and paintwork were restored, as were the mechanical components and the interior, including the seats, which were reupholstered in Connolly leather. The number stamped on the engine block matches that on the chassis plate, suggesting that this is indeed its original six-cylinder engine. Following its restoration, this fine E-Type returned to the road in 2017; the odometer then read 30,706 km, compared with 32,371 km today – meaning it has covered some 1,700 km in nearly 10 years. In 2025, this Type E was sold to its current owner following the death of a German collector, who had taken great care of it since 1987 and had carried out its restoration to the highest standards, as evidenced by its extensive photo archive. It therefore combines superb condition with the charm and sportiness of the very first Type E models, making it an excellent choice for taking part in various historic events, or simply for enjoying its performance and exhilarating sound on Europe’s most beautiful roads.
