1989 – Renault Supercinq GT Turbo Chassis no. VF1C4050501407198 Belgian registration certificate Vehicle sold without an MOT ‘Just over 43,000 km on the clock, full service history!’   Whilst the GTI segment was booming with the 205 and the Golf, Renault decided to make a big splash and replace its R5 Alpine. The company drew on its experience with turbochargers gained in motorsport and unveiled its Supercinq GT Turbo at the 1984 Paris Motor Show.   Thanks to the addition of the Garrett T2 turbocharger, the 1.4-litre Cléon cast-iron 4-cylinder engine produced 115 then 120 ch and reached 204 km/h in its Phase 2 version. The turbo’s power, combined with the restyling by Marcello Gandini, produces a thrilling result. This example has had only one owner between 1989 and 2023, and has covered 42,500 km (as certified by the Histovec report). In perfect condition, with the interior (upholstery and plastics) in incredible condition and a very high-quality repaint (date unknown). In excellent running order, with an addictive ‘turbo effect’. The current owner, a major collector of low-mileage cars, purchased this car in 2024 at one of our auctions. Since then, the car has been displayed in his garage and driven regularly to maintain its condition!     Purchase invoice, service history book and red cross still present. This example, in exceptional condition, is far rarer and more powerful than a 205 GTI… A must-see for youngtimer enthusiasts!
