Description
1955 SUNBEAM ALPINE Vintage vehicle registration document Chassis No. A3501425OD Engine No. RMSMR45 - Legendary model, featured in ‘La Main au collet’ - Highly sought-after, more advanced MKIII version - Elegant design The 1955 Sunbeam Alpine, in its Mk III version, is an iconic British sports car. Just 300 were produced by the manufacturer Sunbeam-Talbot in the United Kingdom. Its elegant design and rounded lines reflect the styling of 1950s cars. It is powered by a four-cylinder engine producing around 80 chevaux. The car is fitted with a four-speed manual gearbox. It is particularly notable for its two-seater body and sporty character. The Mk III benefits from several improvements compared to the earlier versions of the Alpine. It also competed in motor racing events and rallies during that era. The Sunbeam Alpine is a model made famous by Grace Kelly in the 1955 film *To Catch a Thief*. The example we are presenting is a highly sought-after, more advanced 1955 MKIII version, right-hand drive with disc brakes. According to an expert’s report, this Sunbeam was restored in 1982 before being repainted in its metallic grey colour in 2019. The gearbox and engine are original, as are the running gear components. Our example underwent a service in October 2023, which included work on the carburettor as well as the adjustment and replacement of the ignition coil. Produced in very limited numbers, this Sunbeam represents an opportunity to acquire an icon of post-war British GT styling. 1955 SUNBEAM Alpine MK III Collector’s registration document Chassis no.
