Description
1993 PORSCHE 964 RS AMERICA French vehicle registration document Chassis number WPAB2967PS419253 • Limited edition of 701 units, exclusively for the North American market. • Fixed rear wing, M030 sports chassis, lightweight interior. • Service history book In response to demand from American customers who were unable to import the European 964 Carrera RS due to type-approval issues, Porsche developed a version specifically for North America, named the “RS America”. With only 701 units produced between 1992 and 1994, it was based on the 964 Carrera 2 (rear-wheel drive). To stay true to the “RS” spirit, the manufacturer reduced the car’s weight. The retractable rear wing was replaced by an iconic fixed wing, the power steering was modified (or removed, depending on the options), and the interior was simplified: the rear bench seat was removed, soundproofing was reduced, flat door panels with pull straps, and the fitting of fabric sports seats. In terms of handling, the RS America comes factory-fitted with 17-inch Cup wheels, a larger-diameter anti-roll bar and sports suspension (code M030). The engine remains the naturally aspirated 3.6-litre flat-six, producing 250 chevaux. The example shown here stands out for its Guards Red (Indian Red) bodywork, one of the iconic colours from the Porsche range of that generation. Its service history reveals that it spent part of its life in New Orleans before arriving in France in 2022. Since then, bodywork has been carried out, notably on the paintwork (invoice). Although this model was originally intended for the US market, the vehicle was imported into Europe in 2022 and has the advantage of now holding a valid French registration certificate, which greatly simplifies its use and any future administrative procedures within France. A rare, lightweight variant of the 964 generation, of which only 701 were produced, presented in Guards Red and with a French registration certificate. The vehicle description is based on information provided by the seller, who remains solely responsible for the condition of the vehicle. Maison Osenat verifies that the details are consistent. 1993 PORSCHE 911 (964) RS AMERICA French registration document Chassis number WPAB2967PS419253 • Limited edition of 701 units, exclusively reserved for the North American market. • Fixed spoiler, M030 sports chassis, lighter interior. • Service history In response to demand from American customers who were unable to import the European 964 Carrera RS for type-approval reasons, Porsche developed a specific version for North America, known as the “RS America”.
