First launched in 1964, the Renault 8 Gordini was fitted with a 1300 engine and a five-speed gearbox in 1966. With its blue livery featuring white stripes and the Cup race that bears its name, it accompanied a whole generation as they discovered the thrill of sporty driving.
This Type 1135 model, of French origin, has 89,604 km on the odometer. Its current owner, a mechanic within the Renault network, acquired it directly from the first owner, who had carried out the mechanical restoration.
Most of the paintwork is original; the front wings and bumper have been replaced at some point during the car’s life. The car is now fitted with period Gotti alloy wheels and bucket seats. The original alloy wheels and seats are included in the lot and are to be collected from the Arcachon basin.
Maintenance has been carried out by the owner, with a full service completed prior to sale.
Its history of just two owners and its period fittings will give its next owner the chance to rediscover the charm of the small French sports cars of the 1960s.
