Bultaco Pursang Mk15 (R) No registration No MOT The legend that almost became reality… The Mk15 embodies the unfulfilled dream of Bultaco and all those who believed in the Spanish brand. The result of a secret programme, it was an entirely new motorbike, whose key feature was a revolutionary engine for the brand, with significantly more compact casings. This engine made its debut on the Mk15, of which only a handful were produced for official riders. It was then intended to serve as the basis for the entire range, including road-going models. The most credible figures point to an extremely limited production run: three 125 cc machines, two 250 cc models and just one 420 cc model, intended to be tested by the brand’s professional riders. Ever since, speculation about the power of this engine and the results this range might have achieved has fuelled the imaginations of collectors and motocross enthusiasts. Was this the way to save Bultaco? We will never know. For, unfortunately, the Mk15 project coincided with the brand’s worst economic period, and it disappeared along with the company. This model is a very high-quality replica of the famous 1979 Pursang Mk15 420 cc. It is powered by a 400 cc Yamaha YZ engine from the same year and fitted with Öhlins shock absorbers and a Keihin PWK 38 carburettor. Full of character and extremely powerful for its size and weight, it is aimed at thrill-seekers.
