Description
2017 – Kawasaki KX 250cc (formerly owned by Oriol Oliver) Chassis no. JKRKX252AAA003518 Engine No. M 6-504*04048* No registration certificate No roadworthiness certificate This 2017 Kawasaki KX 250 is no ordinary machine. Behind its iconic green livery lies a mechanical secret that makes it a unique specimen: a Kawasaki KX 250 frame paired with a KTM 125 cm³ engine – an unlikely combination born of the demands of competition and the pragmatism of the people involved. A prototype, in the most literal sense of the word. This machine was Oriol Oliver’s official ride for the 2017 season. Bespoke-built to meet the rider’s specific needs, it bears witness to the behind-the-scenes work carried out far from the spotlight – the work of mechanics and teams who have no qualms about breaking with convention to gain tenths of a second. The combination of the two brands is no coincidence. The Kawasaki chassis, renowned for its rigidity and precision, is paired here with KTM’s engine, whose two-stroke single-cylinder unit is recognised as one of the absolute benchmarks in the category. This particular bike has been prepared for competition; two models were produced – one for training and the other for racing. A certificate from Kawasaki Spain attests to this. Information provided by the owner: Modified crankshaft High-speed polyamide crankshaft bearings Vertex piston VHM cylinder head Modified cylinder VForce blade valves HGS exhaust Iridium spark plug Special radiators Reinforced hoses Kayaba KIT B front suspension, twin-tube Adjustable Xtrig 3 fork crown Xtrig PHDS spacers Renthal Twin handlebars DRC/Zeta levers Modified rear shock absorber Oversized brake disc Quick-response throttle Twin Air air filter Special airbox Reprogrammed CDI Hinson clutch cover Carbon fibre mats, DRC/Zeta disc guards All this equipment and these accessories are fitted to the bike. The bike is in the same condition as it was at the end of its last championship race. The fuel tank has been emptied and the carburettor cleaned. Today, a bike like this goes far beyond the scope of a mere collector’s item. It is a competition machine steeped in history, identifiable, traceable and absolutely irreplaceable. An opportunity that will not come along again.
