Description
1967 – Ossa Enduro 230 Frame no. B-250401 Engine no. M-250401 No registration certificate No roadworthiness certificate OSSA, founded in Barcelona in 1924, made a name for itself in the 1960s and 1970s thanks to its two-stroke trial, enduro and motocross motorbikes. Renowned for its lightweight and innovative models, OSSA became an iconic Spanish motorbike brand before ceasing production in the early 1980s. There is no doubt that OSSA’s history would be incomplete without its off-road range, one of the most successful in Europe, boasting numerous sporting and commercial successes. Unveiled at the Milan Motorcycle Show in 1965, the 230 cc model quickly caught the attention of enthusiasts, a few years after having won over the Spanish army. It heralded the dawn of the brand’s off-road models, just as the American market was experiencing a boom. Its original design earned it immediate success. Its 24-horsepower engine was housed in a frame light enough for off-road riding. Ossa’s ambition at the time was to offer a unique trio: three motorbikes, each dedicated to a specific discipline. It was therefore only natural that the Ossa Enduro 230 cc, the Ossa Pluma for trials and the Stiletto for motocross should be created. Produced in runs of 700, 140 and 360 units respectively, these machines embody the style and finest features of their era. The example we are presenting here is the enduro model, recognisable by its headlight, its colour scheme evoking a certain cultural heritage, and its speedometer. It is quite simply magnificent: in perfect condition, it combines remarkably well-maintained mechanics with exquisite aesthetics. A piece as exclusive as it is rare from the Spanish brand – not to be missed. Please note that, although this motorbike is shown alongside its sister models, each is sold separately.
