From 2.00 pm: 1929 WILLYS OVERLAND WHIPPET SIX TORPEDO Model 96, second-hand. This WHIPPET has a wonderful history: it was bought in 1982 by a Frenchman living in Argentina from its first owner, and he decided to restore it completely whilst there. She drove this beautiful pre-war car, with its inline 6-cylinder engine (which is quite rare), for over 10 years on the roads and tracks of South America. On her return to France in 1995, the car was part of her international move, to be taken to her second home in the Loiret. Always well maintained and protected, it has been driven very little in France, but has always been kept under cover and on blocks to preserve its condition. Having been taken out of its barn, it is still in remarkable condition, with a beautiful bottle-green bodywork. As a TORPEDO convertible with a folding windscreen, this model is available for use in photos or films. Its chamois leather upholstery is magnificent. The dashboard is simple; the odometer reads 71,094 km, which appears to be the original reading. The chassis is in very sound and clean condition. It needs to be started up again and will require a major service. No registration document; eligible for collection status. No roadworthiness test.
