MODEL HISTORY
First introduced in the early 1960s, the Porsche 911 laid the foundations for an architecture that has since become iconic: a 2+2 body, a rear-mounted, air-cooled flat-six engine and rear-wheel drive.
The 911 T was then the entry-level model in the 911 range. For the 1972 model year, Porsche increased the displacement of the flat-six to 2,341 cm³, commonly referred to as the ‘2.4’. According to European specifications, the 911 T 2.4 produces 130 ch.
This development was part of the gradual increase in engine capacity of the early 911s, which rose from 2 litres to 2.2 litres and then to 2.4 litres.
IDENTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION
This vehicle bears the chassis number 9113510046.
A former Belgian certificate of conformity issued by D’Ieteren Frères in Brussels mentions this same chassis number.
The certificate of identification issued by Porsche France on 1 March 2024 identifies the vehicle as a Porsche 911 TE originating from Belgium, previously registered as DKZ 957. It states that the vehicle was first registered on 13 June 1972 and has a maximum net power output of 96 kW, equivalent to approximately 130 ch.
The current French vehicle registration document bears the administrative date of 1 January 1972 and the designation ‘classic car’.
It is specified that the chassis number 9113510046 corresponds, according to Porsche’s documentation on chassis numbers, to a 1973 model year and a Targa configuration, whilst the vehicle is currently in coupé form.
The auction house cannot therefore guarantee that the current bodywork conforms to the factory-standard configuration.
CURRENT CONDITION
The vehicle is currently finished in a metallic grey colour.
It is notably fitted with:
- Fuchs-style wheels;
- sports seats;
- external bonnet fasteners;
- carburettors with individual air filters;
- manual gearbox.
These features are described as observed on the vehicle. The auction house does not guarantee their conformity with the original or factory-fitted specification.
MAINTENANCE AND WORK
The vehicle comes with a comprehensive file of invoices from the Porsche specialist Flat 69, documenting over €23,000 (including VAT) worth of work carried out between 2022 and 2025.
In December 2022, an invoice for €5,859 (including VAT) documents, amongst other things, engine tuning and ignition testing, a check of the fuel supply and carburetion, as well as major work on the braking system, including the replacement of the master cylinder, pipes and hoses, brake pads, bleeding of the system and various associated components.
Work was also carried out on the rear suspension arms and wheel alignment.
In April 2023, an invoice for €8,923.40 (including VAT) covers, amongst other things, the running gear and braking system, resealing and adjustment of the carburettors, the ignition, as well as various repairs to the electrical system and its controls.
In December 2023, an invoice for €5,860.51 (including VAT) documented work on the windscreen wiper system, the lighting and indicators, the fitting of seat belts, the re-securing of seat mountings, and various interior fitting-out works.
The heating and ventilation system, the fuel tank and various controls were also serviced. However, the heating and ventilation system still needs to be repaired.
A further service is documented in February 2024, relating in particular to engine tuning and ignition checks.
Finally, in June 2025, an invoice for €2,234.74 (including VAT) details an engine tune-up comprising, in particular, the setting of the ignition timing, adjustment of the air-fuel mixture and richness using a gas analyser, as well as the balancing and synchronisation of the carburettors.
Wheel alignment and various services relating to the lubrication system were also carried out.
The file of invoices will be available for prospective buyers to inspect prior to the sale.
OBSERVATIONS – MECHANICAL CONDITION
The specialist’s most recent invoice, dated June 2025, includes the following observations:
- significant wear on the carburettors;
- fuel pump flow rate to be checked;
- petrol pressure to be checked;
- oil pan warped;
- silent blocks missing.
A previous roadworthiness test report provided with the vehicle shows a reading of 23,033 km as at 8 January 2024.
The mileage remains unguaranteed.
The engine was reported to be running when the vehicle was initially taken in. However, it currently requires restarting and adjustment before any use.
The auction house has not carried out any further in-depth functional tests, mechanical diagnostics or road tests on the vehicle.
Given its current mechanical condition, the vehicle has not undergone a roadworthiness test prior to sale.
The exact nature and extent of the work required to restore it to working order and make it roadworthy cannot be determined by the auction house. In particular, these may go beyond the simple start-up and adjustment operations mentioned above.
The vehicle is presented and sold in its current condition, which is clearly visible during the pre-sale viewing. Potential buyers are advised to carry out, or arrange for, any inspection they deem necessary before bidding.
It is the responsibility of every bidder to verify, prior to the sale, their compliance with these provisions and the formalities required for the vehicle’s registration.
