Designed by Pininfarina, it quickly became one of the brand’s most iconic models in the late 1970s. The 308 GTS convertible version appeared in 1977 with its removable hardtop. From 1980, Ferrari introduced the 308 GTSi, fitted as standard with a Bosch K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection system, replacing the carburettors used on the early 308s. Ferrari clearly records the introduction of the 308 GTSi in 1980. Ferrari The 308 GTSi is powered by a 2,927 cm³ 90° V8 engine, mounted transversely in a mid-rear position and mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The original version is powered by Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. Our example This example bears the chassis number ZFFAA02A2B0034999. Its manufacturer’s plate indicates it was built in December 1980 and bears markings certifying compliance with the US standards in force at that time. The vehicle is finished in red with a beige leather interior featuring black piping, matching carpets and a black removable hardtop. A visual inspection reveals, in particular: - a 2,927 cm³ Ferrari V8 engine; - a five-speed manual gearbox; - a Ferrari metal gear selector; - a Targa-style removable hardtop; - beige leather upholstery; - a three-spoke Ferrari steering wheel; - Veglia instrument cluster; - five-spoke Ferrari alloy wheels; - four exhaust tailpipes. Engine fuel system The Ferrari 308 GTSi is fitted as standard with a Bosch K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection system. This particular example was subsequently modified and now features four twin-barrel carburettors, visible in the engine compartment, in place of the original injection system. The date, the person responsible and the exact details of this conversion can be found in the comprehensive historical file accompanying the vehicle. History and maintenance records One of the main attractions of this example lies in the comprehensiveness of its documentation. The vehicle comes with two comprehensive binders dedicated to its history and maintenance, containing a vast number of documents, invoices and records relating to its upkeep and the various services carried out over the years. This collection of documents provides a detailed account of the vehicle’s history and maintenance and is of particular interest for a Ferrari of this generation. The two ring binders will be made available to prospective buyers for inspection prior to the sale. Condition and observations The vehicle is in good overall apparent condition, with the bodywork and interior presenting well on the whole. Signs of wear and ageing are visible on certain parts of the upholstery and trim. The mileage shown on the odometer is not guaranteed. Registration details French vehicle registration document issued in the name of the previous owner. MOT: pending. TERMS OF SALE Interencheres Live Véhicules fees: €72 (incl.
