Description
Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz by Coolidge, 1979, 2-door pillarless coupé, chassis number 6L57B9E6553731979. V8 350CI engine, 172 CH SAE, THM 325 3-speed automatic gearbox, D.A. Body extended by 50 cm. The bodywork was restored in 2016 and repainted in metallic brown, its original colour (2018), with invoices to prove it. Very good overall condition. Superficial corrosion visible on the underbody. Good mechanical condition: suspension, running gear and brakes. The brown leather upholstery is in good condition. This information is taken from a valuation report dated 14 November 2022. Since then, the car has been stored in a dry garage and is driven regularly. This vehicle was the subject of an article in *Auto Retro* in October 2022. This extremely rare extended-wheelbase version of the Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz likely passed through the workshops of Al Johnson, the Chicago-based Cadillac dealership well known across the US. It subsequently ended up in Germany, where the current owner rescued it from the scrapyard before undertaking a major restoration. This seemingly endless bonnet, reminiscent of Tex Avery’s racing cars, lends it a particularly interesting American heritage. We love its extravagance, with its Continental-style side-mounted spare wheel, its spoked wheels, its intricately crafted roof and its abundance of chrome, not to mention an ultra-kitsch interior. Sale by description. Viewing near Dijon on 16 October. Valuation report available on request. Standard vehicle registration document
