Description
An interesting lot relating to the Order of the Holy Spirit:
- Gold and enamel jewellery from the Restoration period (ram’s head hallmark, 1819–1838). Insignia with four bifid, knobbed branches flanked by fleurs-de-lis. Single-sided centre depicting the Holy Spirit, enamelled in white with blue speckles on a gilded background with undulating green flames. Smooth reverse, with a chiselled and pierced loop set flush with the edges of the piece. With its sky-blue moiré ribbon. Slight losses and restorations to the enamel on the tips of the obverse and reverse. Insignia of jeweller’s craftsmanship.
