Ford T bodywork Torpedo Commercial circa 1925 manufacturer Ford Asnières Seine Serial number 12 512 056 Henry Ford founded the Ford Motor Company in 1903 in the USA. He applied mass production methods to car manufacturing. The Ford T was his flagship model. The manufacturer then set up in Great Britain and began distributing this model in Europe. The success of the Ford T in France, presented at the Paris Motor Show in 1908, led Ford of Britain to buy the Bordeaux workshops of its importer-distributor to assemble Ford cars there. In 1916, the Société des Automobiles Ford (S.A.F.) was created. In 1925, the company moved to a larger workshop on Quai Aulagnier in Asnières-sur-Seine, where the model presented at today's auction was assembled.
