1977 – Porsche 911 3.0 Targa Chassis no. 9117610407 French registration document ‘Extremely rare Vipergrün Diamant Metallic paintwork, in the same ownership for 40 years’ The Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 was launched in 1976 to replace the Carrera 2.7. It was fitted with a 3-litre, 200 ch engine derived from the 911 Turbo, offering greater torque and excellent reliability. Despite having less power than its predecessor, it remained a high-performance car.   With only 3,651 units produced over two years – comprising 2,546 coupés and 1,105 Targas – it was replaced in 1978 by the 911 SC. Recognisable by its distinctive ‘Carrera 3.0’ monogram, this version was often fitted with Fuchs wheels or an optional rear wing.    As evidenced by its warranty booklet, our example was delivered on 4 September 1978 to its first owner in the Zug region of Switzerland. Again, thanks to this booklet, we learn that the car had 23,154 km on the clock at the time, which suggests it had previously been used for promotional purposes. This would therefore explain this absolutely unique combination of colours and options: the extremely rare Vipergrün Diamant Metallic paintwork, a 5-speed gearbox, a Blaupunkt radio, and other options that are very hard to come by!    The current owner bought this car in 1986 under extraordinary circumstances, typical of that golden age… Since then, he has spared no effort in providing the care necessary to maintain it in perfect condition, including, most recently: calibration of the K Jetronic system (2026), replacement of the clutch system (2025), a complete engine restoration (2018), and a full repaint to restore it to its former glory! All of this is fully documented in the file.   A true rarity in this colour combination, this 3.0 Targa with its touching history is emerging from 40 years of shared life with this loving family.
