Plaque in imitation of the dress plaques of the Grand Crosses of the Restoration.
Cast silver.
The branches in imitation of the plates in canetille.
Centre in several parts with the profile of Henri IV.
Diameter 105 mm.
Reverse side with two fixing lugs.
A.B.E. Late 19th century manufacture.
Provenance: direct descendants of Count Michel Claparède (1770-1842), French general during the Revolution and the Empire, Count of the Empire in 1808 and Peer of France in 1819; private collection, Charente.
Silver replacement plaque of the Legion of Honour Grand Cross, preserved in the family of General Claparède.
General Claparède was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Legion of Honour on 17 January 1815.
