Description
After a model attributed to François-Honoré-Georges Jacob-Desmalter (French, 1770-1841) Office armchair shaft Moulded and carved mahogany and mahogany veneer. The overturned back is extended by armrests bearing the sceptre of Pharaoh Thutmose III. The front legs have lion heads, hocks and claws. The hind legs are sabres. Castors. Empire period. Height 96 Width 54 Depth 54 cm. Restorations, reinforcements and one crosspiece changed. Provenance : - galerie de Cicco, Monaco ; - private collection, Belgium. Empire-period carved mahogany desk chair framework after a model by Jacob-Desmalter, from a design by Percier and Fontaine.
