The album opens with 11 views of the "Carpet" ceremony and the pilgrimage to Mecca. It closes with a photograph by Elliot and Fry of Lord Cromer (Evelyn Baring of Cromer), the British Consul General in Egypt from 1883 to 1907.
The photographs depict various places in Egypt, including: Cairo (public fountain, tombs, mosque; Alkankah; French Embassy (bronze door, fountain, room); Karnak; Abydos; Philae; Kom Omb; Luxor; Nazar; Elephantine Island; Aswan; Medinet Habu; Deir el-Bahari; Edfu; Denderah; Bab el-Nasr; Gezieh Palace; bas-reliefs of Izis, Cleopatra; as well as animated views and trades including: Cairo donkeys and donkeys; copperware shop; itinerant merchants; snake charmer; group of seated women; date harvest; "Pharmacie Française"; banks of the Nile; palm grove; kitchen utensils market at Boulaq Remarkable views, including a stone transport on the Nile; the path leading to the Pyramids, built by Ismaïl Pacha to receive Empress Eugénie; the Pyramids during the flood; colossal statue at Memphis; the Sphinx of Giza, partly desanded.
The five large-format photographs, 37 x 28 cm, are probably all by Antonio Béato. They were folded in the middle at the time to fit into the album. They are "Middle columns" of the temple of Karnak; Zchadouf 621; Philae, eastern view 515 A. Béato; Philae, south-east view. There is also a very fine view of a Dahabieh flying the flag of the United States of America as it sails down the Nile. This boat is driven by twelve rowers in uniform, at rest for the shot. Twelve figures look towards the photographer: three or four passengers, these crew members, employees and guide. This type of Dahabieh probably has around twenty cabins.
