(REVOLUTION, LOUIS XVI, HISTORY) JANINET Jean-François (1752– 1814) – “Events of 23 July 1789. Foulon, having been arrested in the village of Viry at the home of Mr de Sartine, was taken to Paris Town Hall: already the committee was appointing judges to hear his case when the impatient crowd forced the guards to enter the chambers, seized the accused and dragged him to the fatal Lanterne; the rope suddenly broke, was mended, and a thousand hands were busy with his execution" - 1789–1791. Engraving. On laid paper (272 × 212 mm). Condition B: dust, small holes and stains.
