BEMBE, Republic of the Congo / Democratic Republic of the Congo. Wood, fabric, cock’s feathers, leather, cord, mirror, ritual agglomerate. A rare and ancient fetish depicting a standing male figure, with a cylindrical body featuring an abdominal reliquary entirely wrapped in textiles, leather and cords.
