NYONYOSSI, Burkina Faso. A stone funerary stele with a light brown patina. The Nyonyossi are the ancestors of the Kurumba, who inhabit northern Burkina Faso. They share common roots with the Dogon, who now inhabit the Bandiagara Escarpment.
