A very beautiful wooden stool with an architectural design, comprising a circular seat resting on an openwork structure consisting of four angular uprights connecting the seat to a base hollowed out at its centre. 53.5 x 19 cm. Note: According to notes and photographs provided by the family, Marie-Louise Demeyer and her husband were part of a camp comprising a dozen households and 500 workers, who were responsible for the conservation of rare species, mainly primates. This camp was based in the primary forest of Gabon, in the ‘Land of the Gorillas’ (Northern Ogoué-Ivindo).
