46. 46W A PAINTED POTTERY FIGURE OF A PRANCING HORSE
Tang Dynasty
Naturalistically modelled with its right front leg raised and head lowered, turned slightly to the left, mouth open and ears pricked, the back with a saddle covered with a cloth gathered in elaborate folds on either side, with trappings hung with tassels, traces of white, red and black pigments.
37 cm (14 5/8 in.) high, 46 cm (18 1/8 in.) long
