Description
A pair of chests of drawers in satinwood veneer, set within frames of violetwood and boxwood mouldings. They feature two drawers without crossbars, each with a double central projection. The rounded corners and the rear corners with projections are inlaid with faux fluting. Curved legs. Tops in Aleppo breccia marble. One is stamped ‘STUMPFF’ and the other ‘REIZELL’. Louis XV–Louis XVI transitional period (damage, losses, restoration). Height: 73 cm – Widths: 119 and 121 cm – Depths: approximately 63 and 61 cm Jean-Chrysostome STUMPFF, admitted as a master in 1766. François REIZELL, admitted as a master in 1764.
