Description
MENNECY (Villeroy) Lidded sugar bowl with raised gadroons, decorated in shades of blue with garlands of foliage and fleurons. From 1735 to 1777, the Mennecy-Villeroy factory produced pieces (sugar bowls, goblets) with shapes and decoration identical to those of Saint-Cloud. The blue lambrequin decoration evolved into small flowers right up until the end of the factory’s operation. Mennecy-Villeroy factory – ‘DV’ mark in blue on the reverse. 18th century.
