Inscribed on the reverse on labels: "Dom Pierre Papion, born in 1725 in Tours and died on 24 February 1810 in Sablé. Brother of Marguerite Papion, wife of Gilles Louvel de La Maisonneuve. Benedictine, last survivor of the former monks of Solesmes." 80 x 60 cm. Flaking and areas of paint loss.
