A gilded bronze and brass clock with a guilloché metal dial and Roman numeral hour markers. Decorated with a frieze of meanders, water leaves, scrolls and foliage, all surmounted by a figure in the round depicting a writer dressed in 18th-century style, holding a quill. On a wooden base with veneer decoration featuring scrolls, foliage and a vase of flowers in light wood inlay. Work from the mid-19th century. H. (total) 53 cm and 42 cm excluding the base.
