Inscribed on the reverse on labels: “Dom Pierre Papion, born in 1725 in Tours and died on 24 February 1810 in Sablé. Brother of Marguerite Papion, wife of Gilles Louvel de La Maisonneuve. A Benedictine monk, the last survivor of the former monks of Solesmes.” 80 x 60 cm. Flaking and areas where the paint is missing.
