In his furniture and lighting designs, he combined glass, steel and alabaster, using the latter to diffuse a soft and subtle light, thereby creating atmospheres that were both functional and poetic. His iconic creation, the Maison de Verre in Paris (1928–1931), perfectly illustrates this innovative approach, where transparency, light and modern materials come together.
