Eduardo Guelfenbein is a Chilean artist born in Santiago. He trained at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. He has lived and worked in Paris since 2003. He is best known for his large, abstract, graffiti-like canvases, in which bright colours are applied in thick layers. At the same time, he has produced figurative works, always colourful, depicting landscapes and portraits in particular. He also creates collages that oscillate between figuration and abstraction. An artist of international renown, he has been represented by several galleries around the world. An exhibition of his work was held at the Santiago Museum of Contemporary Art in Chile in 1997.
