The painting is titled on the reverse as “La chaumière au roses Yport”, and is signed in the bottom right-hand corner and countersigned on the reverse. 47 x 59 cm “BRAULT (Jules-Lucien), painter, born in Chartres (Eure-et-Loir) on 15 January 1861. Pupil of G. Ferrier and A. Sauzay. A landscape painter, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français and the Salon des Indépendants.” Benezit. Losses to the paint layer; loss of gilding.
