Jules BRAULT (born in 1861) – Oil on canvas depicting a house in the countryside. The painting is titled on the reverse as “Route de mer à Vaucottes”, and is signed in the bottom right-hand corner and countersigned on the reverse. 47 x 59 cm “BRAULT (Jules-Lucien), painter, born in Chartres (Eure-et-Loir) on 15 January 1861. Pupil of G. Ferrier and A. Sauzay. A landscape painter, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français and the Salon des Indépendants.” Benezit. Slight losses to the paint layer; some gilding missing from the frame.
