Description
PARIS 1737–1738 A snuff box in 750°/°° yellow gold, of an oval, scalloped shape in the Rocaille style, with a hinged lid, featuring decoration chiselled around the rim depicting curved channels, flowering branches and shells on the lid, and on the reverse, a Rocaille cartouche in the centre framing a bouquet of shells. Hallmarks: letter X for September 1737–1738, fox’s head mark (1738–1744). H.: 2 cm – L.: 6.4 cm – W.: 4.5 cm Net weight: 84 g (Dent on the flat surface of the reverse).
