A substantial snuff box in 750°/°° yellow gold, oval in shape and hinged, featuring a classic guilloché decoration
of striations and dots within geometric frames around the rim and on the
lid in a concentric design alternating rows of leaves and a laurel wreath framing
a central oval medallion with scrollwork.
Hallmarks: two marks: a lapwing’s head and two interlaced Ls; the goldsmith’s mark is present
but difficult to interpret; only the letter A is identifiable.
