José Garcia DE LA PENA (1887–1961) View of the grand drawing room at Arcangues Castle Oil on panel. Signed on a label on the reverse. Dimensions: H: 46 cm – W: 54 cm This work depicts the ‘Salon des Gobelins’, so named because of the tapestries it contains. The painting also shows ceremonial carriages, which were lost in the fire that ravaged the château’s stables in the 1970s. This lot comes from the boudoir of the Château d’Arcangues.
