Ahasuerus cannot sleep and sends for Haman Antwerp tapestry in wool and silk. Part of a series depicting the story of Esther 17th century. H.: 310 cm – W.: 450 cm (Signs of wear, damage, previous restorations). Iconography: Ahasuerus orders Haman to prepare the triumphal procession for Mordecai, whilst Haman believes the procession is intended for himself. In the background, Mordecai can be seen on his white mount. This lot comes from the grand staircase of Arcangues Castle.
