A pair of armchairs in moulded and carved beech, with a cabriolet-style backrest featuring a fluted design and a floral motif; the whip-shaped armrests are fitted with cuffs; the legs are curved. Upholstered in tapestry depicting scenes from La Fontaine’s Fables and musicians. Stamped by Pierre Bernard, who was granted master’s status in 1766. Louis XV period. H.: 82 cm – L.: 67 cm – W.: 54 cm (Upholstery in very poor condition. Restored). This lot comes from the Oriental drawing room of the Château d’Arcangues.
