Description
A library staircase in oak and fruitwood, with a baluster-railed gallery, featuring a lectern at handrail height. Early 20th century. H.: 226 cm – L.: 62 cm – W.: 130 cm. Provenance: former collection of the Villa d’Arnaga, dispersed at auction in late September 1922. Following the success of *Cyrano de Bergerac*, Edmond Rostand moved to Cambo-les-Bains to treat a lung condition and purchased the plot of land on which Arnaga was to be built. The Rostand family moved there in 1906. This lot comes from the Grand Hall of the Château d’Arcangues. Collection is the responsibility and at the expense of the buyer.
