Scarab inscribed on the plate of a scene in three registers In the upper register: a bull, then two winged creatures on either side of a papyrus, and finally a winged scarab. Bandaged agate. Levant, 1st millennium BC Length: 1.7 cm Provenance: Former collection of Mr Gaston Forgues (the owners' grandfather). Acquired at auction and from Vinchon between 1960 and 1980. By inheritance.
