Description
Large Hispano-Moorish dish with calligraphic decoration and endless knots, probably 16th century Hollow earthenware dish with incised cuerda seca decoration and highlights of lightly lustrous brown glaze and cobalt blue. A cursive Arabic inscription runs along the rim, the base is decorated with four oblong cartouches linked by endless knots and the central umbilicus with a cross decorated with flowers. Diameter: 38 cm Chips, a large crack, traces of beads.
