Two assili wedding jugs that could form a pair, Tunisia, Tunis, Qallaline, 19th century
Jugs with an ovoid body on a small truncated cone-shaped pedestal, topped by a high cylindrical neck with a flared lip and flanked by three curved handles with a pinched base. Earthenware with a painted frieze of roundels on the top of the body, coloured lines and friezes on the neck and horizontal stripes on the handles. Green and turquoise blue glazed interior.
Height: 30 and 29.5 cm
